Meet the Team

  • Founder | Architect | Certified Passivhaus Designer | LCA Specialist

John has a considered and sophisticated approach to design. With a keen interest in materials, craft, and function, he enjoys the finer details of a project.

As a practical perfectionist; organised, motivated, and always thinking a few steps ahead, he enjoys resolving complex problems with rational, refined, yet pragmatic solutions.

Born in Scotland, John studied architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh University. John is a chartered Architect, registered with the ARB, and a member of both the RIBA and RIAS. He is a Certified Passivhaus Designer and LCA Specialist.

John has over 15 years of experience, working predominantly within commercial architecture, for a handful of award-winning architecture firms. He enjoyed several years working at Foster + Partners, on a range of global projects for some stellar clients, including Apple. He has spent the last decade working in central London, at Morrow + Lorraine. During this time, he has been involved in numerous retrofit projects, leading the design and wider project teams, from concept to completion, to deliver award-winning architecture for some of the country’s best client organisations.

John now wants to build upon the experience he has accrued to date. Bringing with him the same care and attention to detail, he would like to work at a smaller scale, collaborate with clients, create with craftspeople, and focus his work towards a more natural construction.
